How do I get to Hotel Grano de Oro?
Hotel Grano de Oro is located just 20 minutes away from the Juan Santamaría International Airport. In Costa Rica we don’t use street signs to give directions as the streets are not usually labeled. Addresses and directions are given using landmarks and distances. GPS coordinates: 9° 55. 989 N, - 84° 05. 406 O.
Directions to the hotel: If you are driving from the airport to Hotel Grano de Oro take road #1 and follow the signs that say SAN JOSÉ. You will reach a large intersection with a Nissan Dealership and large park (La Sabana) on the right hand side. Go straight through this intersection. Turn left at the next set of lights which will bring you onto Paseo Colon. Drive 7 blocks, you will see Pizza Hut on your left hand side. Here turn right. Continue 2 blocks and turn right. Drive 1 block and turn right again. Take your next right and you will arrive at the hotel.

Do you offer a shuttle service?
We don’t have a shuttle service, but we can arrange transportation for a charge for you from and to the international and local airports. If you would like to book this service or get more information on costs, please contact us by phone or email with your flight information and we will have someone waiting for you at the airport.
If you prefer to take a taxi, there are orange taxis at the airport and they know Hotel Grano de Oro location.
What are the Grano de Oro check-in and check-out times?
Our check out time is at noon, our check in time is at 2pm but we often have rooms available earlier. Please let us know your arrival time and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Is breakfast included in the room rate?
Breakfast is not included in the room rate. We offer a la carte service in our restaurant. Breakfast is served from 7am until 11am. If you are leaving early and you require breakfast, you can order a box breakfast before 9pm the night before in the restaurant. Your box breakfast will be ready for pickup in reception the next morning.
You will also find a coffee station at the lobby of the hotel from 4am and until 7am. Coffee makers are also available in most rooms or upon request at reception.
Am I allowed to smoke on the hotel premises?
Costa Rica has passed very strict non-smoking legislation. It is prohibited to smoke in public places. Please beware that you are not going to be able to smoke on our premises during your stay. Thank you for understanding.
Can I exchange money at the hotel?
We do offer a currency exchange service at a slightly lower rate than the banks. We can exchange USD and Euro.
Do you offer a luggage storage service?
We offer luggage storage while you travel within the country. Feel free to leave any bags you don’t need at reception and we will keep them in a secure storage room until your return.
Is it safe to drink tap water in the hotel?
The Hotel Grano de Oro is equipped with a top quality water purification system and we test the quality of the water regularly. All water and ice in the hotel is purified and safe to drink.
Do you have secure parking?
We do offer 24 hour secure parking. There is no charge for using this service.
Do I need reservation for dinner? Is there a dress code?
We recommend making reservations for dinner because our restaurant is often busy at night. Reservations can be made prior to arrival by phone or email or at reception during your stay.
We do not have a dress code in the restaurant, we do however encourage guests to bring something appropriate so they feel more comfortable dining with the locals who frequent our restaurant.
What is the voltage in Costa Rica? Do we need to carry an adapter?
The voltage is 110 V, with an American style plug (flat connector); you will require an adapter to connect European appliances.
